Hi everyone! As the year comes to a close I wanted to share a few words of gratitude.
After a series of really difficult years I feel like 2025 was a year where I started to feel like myself again. I feel like I was going in the right direction, and living a life in alignment with my values and goals. I’m immensely grateful to have the stability of a job that I feel is making a meaningful impact in sustainable tech, a creative project to focus on that excites me, loving supportive friends and a community where I feel like I belong.
That said, I feel like I did a better job living my life than I did talking about it. I don’t necessarily regret this because I think that getting my heart and home in order was the proper first step, but I would like to start reaching out more consistently in 2026.

Some creative things I’m proud of:
- Completed two advanced painting courses, one focused on colour the second on environment.
- Completed another year of “postcards from a better future”, my second full year including some illustrations I’m really proud of
- Gave a talk at the Solarpunk Conference
- Hosted a zine-making table at Science World, including two brand new single-page zines
- Got back to tabling at small conventions, including a new zine of autobio comics
- Did a lot of reading and research for my next graphic novel
- Completed a fundraiser commission drive for VOKRA
- Did some infrastructure work on my studio
- Contributed to 16 new podcast episodes with the Tradewaiters
- Kept up with my Patreon including patron-requests, the patron-exclusive hourly comic day and lots of extra behind the scenes posts and surprises
There were some cat-health related challenges and travel in the end of the year that ate up a lot of my focus, so the first bit of 2026 might just be about better-documenting those aforementioned projects.
Thanks so much to everyone who follows and supports my work. For once I feel like I’m not looking to make a “fresh start”, I’m just excited to continue investing in the projects I’ve been building momentum towards for the last few years.
A more in-depth reflection and recap will come in January with my 2025 “State of the Patreon” review and recap zine!
